About Our Blog

In a Nutshell (actually it's a big one)

Who are we? Nice try -- we are not giving up anonymity that easily. All you need to know is that our chief contributor grew up in mainland China. Having learned firsthand how brainwashing through information censorship and political propaganda affected her mindset, she started this blog to share her insight on cultural and political issues.

You will notice that this blog contains articles written in English and Mandarin Chinese. They target different audiences. The articles written in English are for English-speaking students who know little about contemporary China. A decent knowledge of good and evil is assumed. The articles written in Mandarin Chinese target international students from mainland China who grew up there. More reasoning is provided to guide them through the intricacies of political propaganda they have been taught for years without the right conditions for critical reflection.

Due to limited resources, we cannot provide English translation for the articles written in Chinese. However, you are more than welcome to use the Google translator. An even better idea is to introduce our blog to your Chinese friends by asking them to translate it for you!
